The conference "New achievements in chemistry and chemical technology of plant raw materials" was held remotely at Department of Organic Chemistry of Altai State University. For 20 years, this conference has been a unique platform for leading scientists, teachers, experts working in the field of chemical processing of plant raw materials. This year the conference was attended by researchers from the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and other countries.

Rector Of Reshetnev Siberian State University of Science and Technology Edkham Sh. Akbulatov was one of the speakers at the conference opening. He spoke about the University and the new laboratories created here.

In 2019, researchers of Reshetnev Siberian State University of Science and Technology applied for participation in the competition of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation for the creation of scientific laboratories. As a result, the University received three new scientific laboratories with state funding: "Intelligent materials and structures", "Deep processing of plant raw materials" and "Forest protection".

The laboratory "Deep processing of plant raw materials" was created as part of the project "Technology and equipment for chemical processing of biomass of plant raw materials". The project will be implemented for 5 years until 2023. The laboratory was created on the basis of two departments of the Institute of Chemical Technologies, in particular, the Department of Machines and Devices of Industrial Technologies and the Department of Chemical Wood Engineering and Biotechnology. The laboratory team consists mainly of young scientists, undergraduates and postgraduates. At the same time, two outstanding scientists participate in the work of the laboratory, both of them two doctors of science, professors of the Department of Machines and Devices of Industrial Technologies – Robert Zusievich Pen and Nikolai Alexandrovich Voynov. Roman Aleksandrovich Marchenko, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Machines and Apparatus of Industrial Technologies (student of Yuri Davydovich Alashkevich, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences) was appointed Head of the Laboratory.

Based on the results of the laboratory's work, reports were presented and articles were published in the collection of the conference "New achievements in the chemistry and chemical technology of plant raw materials", dedicated to the problems of deep processing of vegetable raw materials.

On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Siberian State Technological University and the 60th anniversary of Reshetnev Siberian State University of Science and Technology it is planned to publish a special edition of the journal "Chemistry of plant raw materials".

Altai State University and the conference organizing Committee congratulated Reshetnev University with the upcoming double anniversary. Yuri Davydovich Alashkevich, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences was also congratulated on his 80th anniversary.

 Yuri Davydovich Alashkevich

Yuri Davydovich Alashkevich, academician of the Russian Academy of Education, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Machines and Devices of Industrial Technologies at Reshetnev Siberian State University of Science and Technology . He founded following scientific schools:

–scientific school on a practice-oriented approach to teaching, development of learning models that integrate innovative scientific developments into educational practice;

–"Regularities of heat and mass transfer processes and improvement of equipment in the technology of deep chemical processing of wood biomass". Main scientific contribution: development and generalization of educational and methodical literature and results of fundamental scientific research in order to integrate higher education and science in the field of professional and pedagogical education; specialist in the field of chemical technology and chemical engineering. He made a significant contribution to the development of new technological processes for the processing of fibrous suspensions based on hydrodynamic and mechanical influences. Under the scientific supervision of Yuri D. Alashkevich, 20 PhD and 2 doctoral theses were defended, and he is the developer and head of a number of master's programs in the specialties of "Professional training" and "Technological machines and equipment".

The results of scientific research of Yuri D. Alashkevich are reflected in 820 scientific publications and educational publications. including in recent years: 16 monographs (3 in international journals), 21 training books (including 5 training books with a signature stamp), 85 scientific articles in journals recommended by Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation, 75 conference papers, 35 patents, 20 scientific articles indexed in information-analytical system science citation Scopus and Web of Science. For the first time his work was published in 1969

The main scientific results are implemented in the training of specialists of higher education, vocational education, research and production associations, and industrial enterprises. In the period from 1992 to 2000 along with scientific and pedagogical activities at the University (Professor of the Department), he was engaged practical work at a large industrial enterprise, successively going from Deputy Director, technical Director of this enterprise, to acting General Director.
